NESTUM BUTTERCAKE


Hello and Assalamualaikum,

My daughter last night just had her very first sleepover at our neighbour's house. We were nervous, as we felt that she was too young (6yo) for a sleepover. But she and her friend insisted and we coudn't just say No to those cutie faces. I was feeling guilty all night thinking how she might cause trouble at people's house and was planning to buy them breakfast as a thanking gesture the next morning. After Subuh prayer around 6.30 am, the friend's mom texted me saying that my daughter woke them up to go home because she wanted to pee so badly. So the mom handled her to pee at their house instead. At around 7am, she already wanting to go home, and so she did. I cuddled her and she dozed off into deep sleep. I guess she partied hard last night. haha.

Aneway, since she is back home, I didnt go buy any breakfast as I had plan. Hence, I decided to make some buttercake. I got this Nestum Buttercake recipe from my mom. My daughter really loves it. But this is the first time I'm making them myself. Quite nervous but it turned out beautifully delicious. The taste is so buttery, moist, and rich in milk flavour. I love its golden brown colour. and the smelll.....goodness, felt like you are in a bakery instantly. 

Look at the golden color on top. I love how crunchy the top is. 

Almond mania. I love almond. It goes so well with this cake. You can also try other nuts of your preference. Pecans are delish too!

The inside. Moist and fluffy.


So here goes the best Nestum Buttercake recipe of all time. It's simple, but so satisfying. 

Nestum Buttercake

Ingredients:
1 cup of buttercup (200g)
1 cup of soft brown (150g) - can reduce the amount slightly to reduce the sweetness
1 tspoon of vanilla essence
4 tablespoon of Nestum Original (50g)
3 spoon of susu pekat manis
1 1/2 cups of self raising Flour (160g)
3 AA eggs (4 A eggs/ 5 B eggs)
Almond nuts/ pecans 

Steps:
1. In a bowl, beat buttercup and soft brown sugar. (sampai kembang)
2. Add in susu pekat manis, and mix well.
3. Put egg one by one and beat them well in the mixture. At this point, your mixture is soft curdles.
4. Add in self raising flour slowl. Mix them in low speed.
5. Add in the Nestum. mix well.
6. Prepare the baking pan, grease well. I am using 3 aluminium packs instead.
7. Pour the whole batter evenly into the pan, sprinkle some almond on top. the more, the merrier. 
8. Bake in the oven for 45 minutes at 170c with upper and below heat. Add another 5 minutes on upper heat to get the golden brown effects and slightly crunchy top!

A little peak on those buttercakes.

Once they are cool, you can cut them and eat with hot drinks. It is so nice to dip into hot tea or coffee too! I gave out one cake to Azra's friend. My daughter scrapped off the 2nd one cause she refused to use a proper spoon. the 3rd one I gave to my MIL.
