SAKITNYA DENGGI!
Korang pernah kene denggi tak? Minggu lepas anak saudara I kene denggi. kesian betul tengok dia lemah. I teringat pulak my very own Dengue Ordeal just a few months a go! So harini I nak share my denggi experience dengan korang. Denggi ni ubat dia cuma, MINUM AIR BANYAK-BANYAK dan makan VITAMIN C. xde ubat specific pun untuk denggi.
So here goes my chronology:
Thursday 14 May 2020
I still remember it was on Thursday that I suddenly experiencing a terrible headache. Mula2 ingatkan sebab I am on my first day of period, so its normallah sakit kepala sikit. Dah la pagi tu I pergi salon dgn my neighbour. Yes masa ni masih lagi MCO. Salon x bukak lagi tp my neighbour runs a salon and my hair were a huge mess. So sajelah texted her boleh tak potongkan rambut. Long story short, I got my hair cut. Masa balik tu around 1pm. It was so hot outside. Bila sampai rumah baru start sakit kepala. So I have two possible reasons: 1) sakit kepala sbb period, or 2) sakit kepala sebab cuaca terlampau panas. Ada jugak terpikir ehh I kene covid ke tapi I did not meet the criterias.

Headache got worst, tahan je makan panadol. But that night became terrible. Tetibe rasa menggigil, badan panas demam. Husband cakap awk ni dah macam denggi je ni. Dah la sepanjang MCO ni dah 4-5 orang di kawasan blok kondo kami disahkan denggi. Ok xpe, i pasang YL diffuser thieves, and sapu lavender untuk make me calm and sleep better.
Saturday 16 May 2020 - Platelet 279
Husband insisted to get me checked. Tapi tulah worried because of MCO, kids are not allowed in the hospital. So my husband duduk la rumah jaga anak2. Jadinya I drive myself to AVISENA WOMEN & CHILDREN HOSPITAL. Sepatutnya utk kes2 yg bukan berkenaan sakit puan, kene pergi ke AVISENA SPECIALIST HOSPITAL tapi I x terpikir pulak. Laju je i masuk parking AVISENA WC. Haha. Buat blood test and positive denggi. Memang terkejut sgtlah. Ingatkan kene warded tp doc ckp platlet masih tggi. Belum masanya utk warded. So just drip air dan dapat painkiller for my headache. Memang rasa lega sikit. Sakit kepala terus hilang. Balik rumah and rehat kat rumah sambil minum 100plus berbotol2 dan makan vitamin c. Husband puasa. Kesian dia letih jaga anak2. Malam demam balik.
Sunday 17 May 2020 - Platelet 215
Datang semula ke hospital untuk repeat full blood test (fbc). Platelet menurun tetapi masih stabil. So balik rumah semula. Demam masih on off. Badan rasa sengal2, nerve pain and rasa weak.
Monday 18 2020 - Platelet 198
Start minum dan makan sup ketam. Masih berulang ke hospital on my own setiap pagi utk fbc. Platelet semakin menurun. Doc ckp the first 3 days tak merbahaya. 4th days onward lebih bahaya. Though I felt slightly better. Ingatkan dah sihat tp doc ckp u will get worse. Haha seram takk. So doc cakap rest well at home first, esok xperlu datang buat fbc. Come back on Wednesday.
Wednesday 20 May 2020 - Platelet 161
Pagi2 dah terpacak kat hospital utk buat fbc. Dalam hati rasa bdn ni dah ok. Tak mungkin warded. Siap dah plan nak drive tru chicken foldover dekat mcd for lunch. Boleh tapau utk buka puasa husband jugak alang2 tu. Sekali fbc platelet jatuh, air dalam badan berkurang, tekanan darah rendah dan badan mula berbintik merah. Doc ckp its dangerous for you now. Kene warded! You boleh collapse or bleeding anytime. Lagi2 I tgh period. I may experience bleeding. Terus drip air, call my insurance agent utk settlekan booking bilik dan claim insurance. FYI, I pakai PRU BSN TAKAFUL. Service diorang memang tiptop! After two hours semua settle dengan my insurance. Very recommended.
The funny thing is, this is women n children hospital. Kes2 denggi pulak akan dihantar ke Avisena Specialist. Haaa I cakap la I can drive there sebab takkan I nak tinggal kereta I kat hospital lain tapi I warded hospital lain. Doc insisted its too dangerous. So I KENA NAIK AMBULANCE. This is my first experience naik ambulance! Excited pulak haha.
My husband datang visit bawa my clothes and toiletries. I miss him and the kids so much! Kids are safe with atok and nenek. Unfortunately no one allowed to stay overnight with the patient. So I am on my own. Night came, I have no fever so I killed the time by watching netflix's movie "Wrong Missy". Soo funny! haha. But after midnight my worst nightmare came! I gatal satu badan! gatal sangat2 sampai I didnt sleep at all until the next day! Terrible. My body was all spots of red. I informed the nurse and she said it was normal for denggi patient to experience the itchiness.
Thursday 21 May 2020
Since I didn't sleep a wink last night, I developed major migrain. super major migrain! I was crying sebab nak balik sgt2. I prefer to rest at home. Bagitau doctor I nak balik, doc ckp if my platelet is improving he will allow. unfortunately, platelet keep dropping! So I mintak painkiller to ease my migrain and ubat gatal. Tapi painkiller tu dapat very later in the evening. kepala I dah berdenyut2 teruk sangat. I mengantuk, but I can't sleep. I call my husband mintak dia datang bawakkan my Young and Living oils. I have started to become so agitated and irritated. Bila dapat oils tu I sapu on my head, and behind my ears. That night I slept off better. I did get few hours of sleep tapi not sufficient. Headache still there.

Pagi tu doc datang I ckp I nak sgt balik please. Let me rest at home please. Doc mcm kesian kot dekat I. I mmg have no rest at all in the hospital. So doc check my blood. Actually it wasnt improving but the dropping wasn't that substantial. so doc cakap oklah you can go home. Monitor yourself kalau ada bleeding or feeling worst PLEASE COME BACK TO THE HOSPITAL.

Covered by PRU BSN TAKAFUL RM2,207.79
Outstanding amount paid by self RM366.36
I cuma perlu bayar RM366.36. Murah je untuk hospital swasta mcm ni. Tempat pun cantik sangat. rasa mcm kat hotel. RM366.36 ni actually breakdown dia ialah RM300 cotakaful, RM6.36 wristband dan RM60 admin fees. So amount2 ni perlu bayar sendiri dan tak dapat claim.
Billing summary
The following day tu I rasa very weak, belum pulih sepenuhnya. My head rasa mcm nak explode. Malam raya tu I betul2 sakit, I menangis2 kejut my husband I sakit kepala at 2am. My husband marah sbb I request balik awal. I should stay at the hospital. Then my husband suruh I sleep it off. So i sapu lavender and purification, then I close my eyes and tidur. I bangun pagi tu sakit kepala dah kurang sgt2. lega! Terus bersiap untuk ber-Hari Raya rumah my parents. Period I dah lama habis. Then masa tgh sibuk berjuadah, I pergi toilet jap tau2 eh I started period again, tapi x byk. just red spots. I monitor je dulu. Told my husband and we just rest at home. My husband decided kalau bleeding tak stop by evening, he will send me back to the hospital. Luckily it stopped! and I get a proper rest that day. By the time Raya ke-3, I am feeling all jolly again Alahamdulillah.
The following week Doc suruh datang utk fbc again. Alhamdulillah everything dah normal. Platelet dah naik! yipeee! Hospital Avisena ni I respect betul la. Masa I dah discaj tu, they call me tanya how are you. feeling any better tak? They really jaga their services.
Aneway, korang please jangan lupa ambil insurance. I ambil insurance PRU BSN TAKAFUL with my husband's good friend. Dia mmg betul2 jaga ktorang. kalau warded je mesti dia datang melawat bawak gifts. After discharge dia uruskan semua bill2 outpatient yang I ulang alik ke hospital sebelum kene warded dulu dan dia tolong process claim. Yes, boleh claim! Alhamdulillah, I siap dapat daily allowance lagi sepanjang berada kat hospital from PRU BSN TAKAFUL.
