SELAMAT HARI MALAYSIA!
Malaysia Day In KLCC
Hello and Assalamualaikum,
Today is Malaysia Day!! Can you tell how excited I am? hiks. September feels like a blissful month for having so many public holidays. I was always in a vacation mood when September comes. haha. Anyone else like me? I am sure you guys felt the same way too. High 5 guys! To be honest this month felt close to heart because I have some personally events that happened within the span of 31 August until the rest of September.
First thing first, you guys who knew me from my Instagram would know by now that my son, is a patriotic, die hard fan of Malaysia. Yup, Malaysia!! It all started last year in April 2019 when my daughter came home from school insisting to have a sports practice for the sports day event in her school. Her practice started with Lagu Negaraku and followed by Lagu Negeri Selangor. So being a supportive mother that I am, I played the Negaraku and Negeri Selangor song from youtube and she had her practice. Little that I know, my son who was only 2 years old at that time, was so hooked with both anthems! I didn't realized it at first because my daughter practiced for a few weeks and those songs were played over and over again, so I was assuming the song just got stuck in his head for quite a while now that he started singing them.
But when my daughter's sports day finishes, my son kept wanting to play the anthems every single day! I don't see any problem for it so I allowed him the access to watch Lagu Negaraku, Lagu Negeri Selangor and apparently it lead to more patriotic songs! Not only that he memorizes these anthems, he also a big fan of Saya Anak Malaysia by various Malaysian artists, Oh Malaysiaku by Rocketfuel, Negaraku by Faizal Tahir, Ale Ale Malaysiaku by Harimau Malaya, and even memorized some of our states' flags such as Johor, Sarawak, Selangor and Pulau Pinang. I was proud for he was only 2 years old and already showing the signs of patriotism.
His obsession lead to us buying him flags, maps, merdeka clothes and anything with Malaysia flag on it. Seeing him this excited excites us as well. We thought that his obsession would end after a couple of months. But we were wrong. So wrong. It got harder! It has now been almost two years that he is still obsess with Malaysia. I kid you not. He has a favourite red shirt with a Malaysia Flag on it that he wears almost everyday now. Last year, we brought him to Putrajaya to celebrate Merdeka and it was fantastic! He was happy and we were just so so proud. He hold his flag tightly everyday. He doesn't ask for toys, he only ask for flags. Weird? Maybe, but its cute. Really.
Since Covid-19 strikes the world by storm, we were bummed that Merdeka Day's national celebration/ parade were not allowed this year. Hence, this year we only went to KLCC. Though my husband initally wanted to go to Genting but it was too sudden. We weren't ready. So KLCC seems like a nice plan. My son on the other hand, were sooo excited for this KLCC trip. One thing you guys should know about him, his obsession with Malaysia Flag comes along with loving both KLCC and KL Tower. We have brought him to both towers and he was still very excited. Each trips left him happy. This time around we rode LRT from Glenmarie station to KLCC, and to add more excitement, my whole families followed! We decided to explore PETROSAINS. But.......tickets all sold out. Then we wanted to go to Sky Bridge. Tickets were sold out toooo. Last but not least, we checked on Aquaria, yup...SOLD OUT.
While waiting for the LRT to arrive, we kill some time by taking photos. There were not many people at this station at the moment.
My children and I. See my son, he is wearing Malaysia shirt, with Malaysia badge, Malaysia mask and of course holding the flag itself.
Inside the LRT. I let my mom sit down with the kids. The ride took about 16 stations to reach KLCC. I was having vertigo and I really felt dizzy. Only after 12 stations, I manged to get a seat. LRT is no joke for me. Gives me inertia.
