FINALLY 21!
Hello and Assalamualaikum!
I am very happy today because I finally turns 21! cough cough... I mean... 21+10...
(Do the Math guys). *winks*
Normally on my birthdays, my husband would treat our little family for a nice dinner at a fancy restaurant. Last year was at Absolute Thai and the year before was at Famous Thai. (Wait, I just noticed the resemblance here.. what's up with us and Thai food really? haha. ok ok, THAI FOOD are a great deal of spread aren't they?) For this year, I have been wanting to have dinner buffet at KL Tower 360 restaurant because our last visit in February was an absolute amazeballs that I kept on thinking about it for weeks! I even planned to have my parents along for this year's celebration in KL Tower. (I really mean it, I saved up money for this). But jokes on me, Covid attacked the country, we recovered, and then we were re-attacked AGAAAAAIN. We are all stuck at home complying to the PKPB order, hence, there were nothing much to expect.
But I was wrong.
I woke up this morning to a few beautiful messages on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp wishing me for a wonderful birthday. My husband woke up a little later than me. He found me in front of the laptop doing some works and gave me a little kiss and said, "Happy DEEPAVALI sayang" and then he laughed. "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA". Geez, remind me again why did I marry this Joker?? haha. in all seriousness, I knew he was joking, I had a good 3 minutes laugh and he wish me properly Happy Birthday Sayang with a big hug. Ok, now I remember why I married this sweet guy. LOVE YOU SAYANG. (And, happy festivities to those celebrating!)
I have made some plans in my head: 1) pick up my birthday cake, 2) Buy asam laksa at Tesco (my current favourite food!) 3) buy Mac and Cheese for my daughter and have a nice lunch at home with my husband and kids. This seems like a perfect PKPB birthday style at home! Well, my style of course. Hiks.
So at noon, I brought along my kids to the baker for cake pick up, however, due to some glitches my cake wasn't ready on time. So I brought the kids to seven-eleven and I told the baker I will be back in 30 minutes for pick up. While stalling some time at the convenient store, my husband texted me to come home because he had food ordered and there is cake too. I informed my baker that I will pick up in the evening instead. My asam laksa plan automatically cancelled. hahahaha. so much of planning! LOL
When I reached home, I was surprised to see a LOT OF FOOD from Secret Recipe including a slice of my all time favourite New York Cheesecake AND that was when the puzzle matched in my head (duhhhhh!). It was from my dear friend, Sophia!!! Ohh goodnesss!! (come on guys, why would my husband buys another cake when he knew I already ordered one).
What's amazing is, every single items that she ordered were all our favorites and it was all a surprise, even my husband didn't even know what food did she ordered. Sophia was my senior when I was in Sime Darby Motors working under Malaysia Region. We have a lot of memories together, getting married, getting pregnant, miscarriages, and of course having kids. Honestly I do not have many friends, but this one is for keep!
Later in the evening, my best friend since primary school came over sending me some freshly baked apple pie! SHE HAD JUST MADE THEM! Really really hot from the oven. (Her name is Aqilah, she can make yummy risoles too! Ohh goodness she can really cook good food! Anyone wants to know her just let me know okayy. She’s single and available. Winks*)
After maghrib prayer we went to my parents’ bringing over my birthday cake, the freshly baked apple pies and my husband ordered some satay via food panda. It was all in pronto and I love it because it felt very intimate as they were only us and my parents. Foods were great. My sister sent over bakso! I felt so much love that day.
